The Behavior of Broadus
Sacred Fools teams with Burglars of Hamm to present this original musical born in LA about the father of Behaviorism. It’s a rather entertaining romp through the history of science and, despite my initial skepticism, John Broadus Watson’s friendship with Phil the lab rat won me over. I also enjoyed the Mad Men-esque inclusion of Watson’s turn at an advertising agency.
There are some sections of the show that could be clarified a bit and there’s room for improvement, but they’ve got a solid footing. If they continue to refine it, it could be great, in the meantime, it’s an enjoyable night at the theatre.
