Tosca by POP
I thoroughly enjoyed POP’s site-specific rendition of Tosca. The first act, set in a church, took place in an actual church. The second act, in an office or sitting room, was staged in an auditorium and felt suitably more intimate. And the last act, set outdoors, was masterfully staged outdoors, on the roof of the church compound that hosted the evening’s performance. The singers voices were truly phenomenal. It’s amazing that director Josh Shaw can get such talent for small, local performances and charge reasonable prices for his innovative and entertaining shows.
If you haven’t seen a POP opera yet, you should.
